Here is the E-mail received from the Bhopal's French Alliance with the illustrations which accompanied it

The Embassy of France in India organizes this year for the first time a program of residences of Indian artists in France, by offering some of these the opportunity to spend several months in France. Bhopal's French Alliance helps friendly artists of the Alliance to constitute their file of candidature for this grant.

 

The doctor Kamal Dafal realizes an work unique in India, extremely interesting as much point of view of the artistic creation as the ethnological and historic standpoint : the dolls represent images of Indian classical education, as well as traditions tribales. Doctor in Museology and specialist of India, the works were already exposed in various countries of the world.

She would wish to postulate for the evoked grant higher, and to prepare her file and her possible trip, she is in search of partners in France, approach in which French Alliance assists her.

The first urge is not to realize an exhibition of its works in France, but, on one hand , to have the opportunite to meet the other artists manufacturers of dolls, to visit their workshops, to be able to exchange with them their techniques, their methods, and to share their knowledges. On the other hand, as she had already made it during a stay of this type in United States some years ago, she would wish to leave a meeting of all kinds of public (school, but also wider, whatever structure it is) to present the work and to show the works.

Enclosures : some photos of these so that you can appreciate the work. They will be able to serve as base of discussion and analysis to evoke Indian culture, towards which count of persons in France, and especially young people, are often attracted.

French Alliance is in search so of partners who would be ready to guide her for these two objectives and to steer her towards the artists and bodies most to help her, even possibly, who would hold a possible collaboration, exhibition, etc.
